(or, the miracle of movies)

Being able to make a movie, to take it from beginning to end, almost amounts to a small miracle. It is an endeavor that requires such a large amount of resources (financial, human, temporal, logistic, of know-how); that involves the coming together of such a fortunate constellation of events, support, determination, and means; that takes such meandering, lengthy, and arduous paths – that simply being able to take a film from idea to completion represents an extraordinary achievement, in itself.

This is why, no matter the specific thoughts, feelings, impressions, and comments shared in the various posts on this website, I want to emphasize that they are all predicated on a basis of genuine recognition and admiration toward the very achievement of having made the movie. So, chapeau! hats off! bravo! – for the sheer achievement… and, if you are a filmmaker, and you choose to read only these words of appreciation, and none of my other thoughts and impressions about your movie, that is fine enough.
